Helen Holt

Helen first came into contact with the teaching of Csaba Szilvay, the founder of the Colourstrings cello method, in 1983. She has closely followed the development of the cello books and believes that they offer access to a wealth of musical and technical ideas to both teachers and students in a thorough pedagogical manner. At Csaba's request Helen is in the process of writing the teachers book for Book B of the cello method. Helen believes that the Colourstrings and Kodaly methodologies are an important facet in teaching a string instrument.

Helen currently runs a private teaching practice teaching students from beginners to VCE. For many years she taught in the classroom program at Wesley College, Glen Waverley Campus and was involved in classes from Year 2 to Year 12 and group string teaching.  She conducted string orchestras and the Symphony orchestra.

As well as using the Colourstrings methodology on a one on one basis she also uses many of the concepts in her group string teaching.
